The plot thickens.
It was nowhere to be found (though I seem to have located a number of greasy items I prevoiusly misslaid).
I called Wimpey for help, who directed me to the electical contractors. The helpful gentleman there advised me that the fuse was, after all, inside the extractor chimney. This being the case, and with no visible screws, i would have to dismantle the entire extractor from the wall to change the fuse.
Why helpful? Well, the electrical contractors did, after all, advise both the site agents and the contract manager at the time of construction that this was somewhat insane (and I would venture, questionably legal), but they told them to go ahead and do it (guess why£££££££).
so, now to change a fuse, The thing should come off the wall, and I sure as hell am not going to do it. Log this one for future reference and I will advise of the outocme after the next conversation.
...anyone got any contacts in Wimpey?
So anyways, I wrote em and asked them to reposition the fusing casing somewhere accesible, and they (well, the MD of Wimpey SE England) replied.
"I have noted with interest (the fusing issue) and have passed a copy of your letter to my production director with an instruction for a full investigation to be carried out by his team. I would expect for you to be in receipt of the results of this investigation within 14 days"To business: If you have a Wimpey and cannot find the cooker hood isolation/fusing device, don't call the A Team. Just PM me and If i get the opportunity, I will redirect them.
