Dream of a pyjama party for toddlers

CHILDREN snuggled up for a pyjama party to raise cash for the Anthony Nolan Trust.

Nearly 60 children and 30 staff at the Just Learning Nursery in Cambourne donned their finest Jim Jams in aid of the trust, which helps people who suffer from leukaemia.

Jo Mackenzie, 33, Senior Nursery Officer, said: "It was a really fun day involving about 60 children and all the staff - about 30 in total.

"In the afternoon we had a proper tea party with marshmallows and hot chocolate.

"The staff had just as much fun as the kids; when else do you get to come to work in your pyjamas? All of us certainly went home very chilled. We raised the best part of £100 which was great because everything counts and makes a difference."

The Anthony Nolan Trust saves lives by recruiting new donors to the UK's most successful bone marrow register. More than 4,000 children and adults have been helped since 1974.

Alex Frazier, of the Anthony Nolan Trust, said: "All the support we can get is absolutely vital and it's great that people are showing their support like this.

"At the moment there are over 70,000 people around the world who are waiting for transplants. The more funds we have the more we can do to help them."
