Trustees hope to take to the stage

A STAGE with lighting could be built at Cambourne's community centre.

Trustees of The Hub Community Centre, in the heart of Great Cambourne, are hoping to raise money for the facility for use by youngsters and adults.

Mike Jocelyn, a trustee, said: "It will be a wonderful asset for Cambourne.

"It will benefit everyone in the village and be used by the whole community.

"We estimate we will be able to get around 150 people seated after a stage is put in.

"We are trying to set up a youth drama group and we hope to be able to have touring companies perform there as well putting on films using film equipment rented from South Cambridgeshire District Council.

"Trustees are just waiting for a formal lease to be signed by the parish council, which owns the Hub."
