The Mad Monk

'Early Christmas Lights' was first published in the December '04 issue of the Crier. Given that; a year has passed, and Robert T Builder and his mates have appointed a 'Streetlights Tsar' (see October’s Crier), and both Lower and Great Cambourne are still in the same situation; it is a poor indictment of the Con-sortium’s organizational capabilities.
Dear Bob, For the avoidance of any further doubt, a working streetlight looks like this:

One that does not looks like this:
and this:
Get the picture?
‘The Signs of the Times’ appeared in the January 2005 Crier. They’re still there…

‘Megalomania for the Masses’ was published in February 2005. This article got the Cambourne Parish Council to throw their toys out of the pram big style and the witchhunt to identify the Mad Monk was on – oh happy days!!
Strange that the CPC never complained about the first two articles…

‘Spoiled for Choice’ appeared in the Crier in May 2005. A comment on the taxation from SCDC and our Parish Council.

After several months of PR and spin, the developers and our parish council are still promising more than they deliver. Never mind, with 'Rose Coloured Spectacles' everything will look just fine. Cambourne Crier, November 2005.

Letter to Mr Wimpey - As time goes by you would have thought that Mr Wimpey and his Wimpettes would have had the time to fix the street lights? But as you may guess from this letter the twinkling of street lights is still ongoing. Even though I wrote about this back in December 2004 the mysterious flashing lights can still be seen around Cambourne. I wonder, if they were viewed from the sky, they would actually spell out a message?
Safe As Houses - Have you ever wondered what a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’? It's a simple recipe:
Take 64 new houses, apply to put them somewhere noone wants them. If you experience any difficulties at this point just send out a Memo of Understanding, promise a few things (not officially though), wait for a short period of time for stewing and then watch the application be successful.
